I was reading through one of the Boston Terrier forums I belong to the other day, and a thread that someone who’s starting a Boston Terrier art Zazzle store was getting some responses like ‘I’d like a dog t-shirt that says…’, and it startled me that I still haven’t effectively described the options available to Zazzle shoppers!
First of all, I’d like to leave you with a couple of links. I know, I know, shameless self promotion right? But let me just say that I donate a portion of proceeds to Boston Terrier and Boxer rescue, and since closing my Cafepress shop, the payments have been embarrassing. I’d really like to increase my income (thus the donations) so won’t you please at least take a look at what I have to offer??

I am a chronic pain sufferer which leaves me almost house bound, and I simply can’t get out to take photos of other dogs, so Buster and Luna (my BT’s) are here and the focus of most of my work. I have a wonderful Boxer (Buddy) as well, but he has such terrible allergy issues, that photographing him is sporatic due to face swelling issues, etc. He also has a thyroid issue and keeping him at a reasonable weight is an ongoing struggle, so…. not too many Boxer photos to work with.
I do offer a few other breeds, and I’d LOVE to offer all of them, but again, unless someone sends me a photo to work with it’s not an option (I REFUSE to offer clip art as an option like so many other stores do!). Have a German Shepherd (or any breed) photo you’d like FREE custom art from? I’d be happy to oblige you!
We also have a doggie t’s shop called Doggie Duds. There’s not much there, know why (and this brings me to my next point)? You can take any one of those dog t shirts (which are EXCELLENT by the way…I just bought one) and make it say anything you want! I’ve offered some design elements to get you started (thought bubbles, etc). That’s the whole idea behind Zazzle, and what in my opinion makes it far superior to Cafepress for the customer and seller alike! Let me say that again. Take this dog shirt (or any other item in any of our shops!)
And first of all choose the style (you have a choice of 2), color (there are 8 color choices!), size (they run small, so choose accordingly) and then have at it! If you want to keep BFF, but would like a different font, or different font color, change it. If you want a dog shirt but would like it to say ‘mommy’s little angel’ for example, remove the BFF text, and change it to mommy’s little angel (again using whatever font, font color, and font size you like)! If you want to add a photo of your dog, you can do that too…all for NO EXTRA CHARGE! Isn’t that GREAT?!
But wait…there’s MORE!
Now, just so you all will get it…let’s take one of my most popular designs.
Pretty cool huh? But what if you don’t like the text that says “I asked God for a true friend so He sent me a Boston Terrier”? Or what if you’d like it to say, “I asked God for a true friend, and He sent me YOUR DOG’S NAME”? No problem with the Zazzle shopper I am now able to offer this design
So you can add that text, no text, or any text you want.
Let me take this one step further and explain the apparel options. Want to experiment with me? Click here and a new page will open and we can play together (this will cost you NOTHING, I promise! We’re not going to add anything to your cart, when we’re done playing, just close the window). Okay, now look at the page. It’s a Happy Holidays Boston Terrier sweatshirt right? And you like (just for the sake of the game) the design, but this is a child’s sweatshirt, and you’re a woman and want a short sleeved black shirt with the design on the whole front, not just the pocket. It’s YOURS! Look to the right and you’ll see shirts offered in men’s, women’s, kids, babies, in every color, size and style (almost) you can imagine. Click through them until you find the shirt you like, click on the shirt you want, and choose done. Now click CUSTOMIZE
customize it!
Just look at all the options you have! You can’t mess it up, because if you do something you don’t like, just hit the revert button and start all over.
And don’t forget to click the shirt options tab to the left of customize it to check out all the colors (and sizes) offered in the shirt style you chose, or to choose a different style altogether.
Decide you like the design, but really wouldn’t WEAR it…maybe a greeting card instead. Hit the ‘back’ button on your browser, which should take you back to the original sweatshirt page, and look in the lower right corner. There should be two options there..store (my shop) which will list more products with the same design) and marketplace (which offers other people’s products that Zazzle thinks might interest you). If you don’t see a greeting card listed in the ’store’ option, right below the store tab with the product photos, you’ll see the word category, and a link that shows you where ALL the products with the design on it are listed. Click there, find the card (again, click on ANY card) and then choose note or greeting, and start customizing all over again!
We’re done playing with that page if you’d like to close it, but please keep in mind the customization tool is available on any product in our store, so have some fun with it!
Here’s a great little design I just worked up for the holidays
Again, you can change or remove the text, change the color, add a greeting on the inside, make the Boston Terriers smaller or larger, don’t like the candy cane? Remove it! It’s a seperate design. Want stickers to go with it? Here ya go.
Stationery?
Like the stationery but would rather have a green background? Change it!
I hope, at least I’ve made my point about customizing any product. If you have any questions, I’m only to happy to answer them for you.
If you have a photo of your dog you’d like on a product, and need the background removed, email me and if I’m up to it (again with the chronic pain thing) I’d be happy to do that for you and add it to whatever product you choose so you can customize it…no…extra…charge.
