Looking at those 3 little faces just breaks my heart
Were you aware that vaccinating your dog against rabies doesn’t actually guarantee prevention, but only ‘lowers animals’ chances of contraction’? I wasn’t, and living in an old house (chasing at least one bat out of the house every year until the last few) in a rural area with a large raccoon population, this scares me to death.

Very informative story. Here in Florida they have a 3 yr Rabies shot. I got bit by a feral kitty when I worked @ the pound and underwent rabies shots. It wasn’t like I was led to believe, shots in the stomach or something, it was just a series of many shots over a 6 week period but now I never have to worry about getting rabies. LOL!
The feral kitty was euthanized to test it for rabies, that is what made me angry. I’m not sure if it’s still the case, with all the new advances in medicine, but in order to test for rabies you have to look at the brain tissue and the only way to do that is to kill the suspected animal or wait and see if they develop the symptoms. She did not have rabies.
I sure hope those babies get a clean bill of health real soon so they can get back to being the terrors (terriers) they are! Thanks for sharing.
My buddies (dogs…don’t you hate calling them that?) get the 3 yr shot here in OH as well…well, the boys do. Luna is just 8 months and they gave her the 1 yr. I’m assuming the 3 yr shot is for older dogs.
